The coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has blamed the 0-0 draw towards Sierra Leone on Tuesday on the poor pitch of the Siaka Stevens stadium.
According to the coach, the Super Eagles played a very unbelievable game and the goalkeeper particularly gave it his all to defend the group.
Rohr said, “The Team did properly well particularly our goalkeeper, he had an excellent match. Last time he conceded 4 goals which was not his fault and as we speak he confirmed everybody what he can do.
“Our defence did properly well but the pitch could be very troublesome to play good football they usually had been taking part in long balls.
“The points means we stay top of our group and I believe we are in the right direction.”
The Eagle’s next game within the qualifiers is away to the Benin Republic in March 2021 the place a victory will see Nigeria over the finish line within the qualifiers.
